Scrumdo Slack Integration helps you with following:

  • Receive updates of Scrumdo card right in your Slack channel
  • Create new cards and make updates on the card directly from Slack

Configuring Slack With Workspace

Slack can be configured from the 'Extras' option provided in the Workspace Settings. Slack configuration is a 2-step process:

  • Authenticate your Slack (team)
  • Configure the Slack channel respective to the team and determine the types of notification you want to receive in the channel

Configuration Setting (Notification Settings):

While configuring Slack, you can select from several configuration options (these options incorporates notification sent to the channel):

New Card Created: Notification will be sent in your Slack channel with the card number linked to that card when a new card is created.

Card moved on the board: Every time a card is moved (either manually within the application or if card is moved by any user from their Slack window), respective notification will be sent in your channel with the card number.

Card details Edited: Any update in the card will prompt notification to your Slack channel with the card number along with a list of the fields that have changed with their new values.

New comment created: Whenever message is added under the 'Conversation' section of card then notification will be sent in your Slack channel.

Notification flow when updates are performed from the ScrumDo Application:

On performing any of the following action, a corresponding notification will be generated in the slack channel:

  • Card Creation
  • Card movement¬†
  • Updates performed on the card
  • Blocking/unblocking card
  • Task movement
  • Conversation

Working in Slack and notification behavior:

You can use below commands to perform certain task from Slack (either from your Slack window or from the channel window) and that will be reflected in your ScrumDo workspace:

  • NewCard: By using this command you can create a new card from Slack and that will get display in the Scrumdo workspace. To use this command you have to execute below syntax:

/scrumdo newcard <Card Number>

Once this execution is done, you will see that card has been created and 3 below additional options are displayed to add in the card:

  • Label: This dropdown displays the labels added in the workspace
  • Assign User: This dropdown will display all the users added as team members in the workspace
  • Due Date: Here you will have 2 options, either to set particular date or to set specific date option available as buttons
  • ShowCard: By using this command you can make updates or view conversations in your already created card. To use this command you have to execute below syntax:

/scrumdo showcard <Card Number>

Once this execution is done, you will see 4 tabs are displayed:

  • Label: This dropdown displays the labels added in the workspace
  • Assign User: This dropdown will display all the user added as team member in the workspace)
  • Due Date: You can set due date by the 2 available options.One from which you can set particular date and from second option you can set specific date from the available date buttons.
  • Show Comments: All the conversations available in the card will get displayed when clicking this tab.
  • MoveCard: you can move card directly from your slack window by executing the below command:

/scrumdo movecard <Card Number>

  • MyCards: Once executing the below command, you will see the cards which are assigned to you.

/scrumdo mycards 

Note:

  • Only members who have access to the workspace can execute the ScrumDo commands to create some action or an error would generate
  • If commands are not written in correct format a respective error will be displayed.
